CALL FOR SUBMISSION

Call for Abstracts (for oral, poster, and demo sessions)

We are pleased to invite abstracts from students with a focus on discussing, supporting, or challenging contemporary theory and practice through research evidence. Oral presentations and poster sessions of this conference will examine current multidisciplinary trends in research and practice. Demo sessions will show innovative practice, propose novel solutions in various sectors using technology. We are seeking papers that engage with a range of subject areas and/or signify pioneering applications and developments in the realm of, but not limited to, women empowerment, sustainability, and tolerance.

  • 1st Place 3000 AED, BCS trophy and certification
  • 2nd Place BCS trophy and certification
  • 3rd Place BCS Trophy and certificates

The top ten participants in each category will have the opportunity to present at Middlesex University Dubai’s upcoming international conference https://www.mdx.ac.ae/research/conferences-and-events/upcoming/erpbss-2020 and publish in the conference’s special issue journals (subject to reviews).

Short abstracts

A short abstract (200-300 words) should include the presentation title, aim of the research, clearly stated research method, findings (or anticipated outcome of the research), and conclusions. The deadline for submission of the short abstract is September 30th, 2019. Undergraduate students will be assigned to either the poster or demo session, and postgraduate students will be assigned to the oral session. Submissions will be reviewed by the conference committee and authors will be informed of the outcome of their submission.

Extended abstracts (poster and oral sessions)

The deadline for submission of the extended abstract is September 30th, 2019. Upon acceptance of the short abstract, presenters are required to submit an extended abstract of 500-1000 words (maximum). This should follow the below structure:

  1. Paper title
  2. Background
  3. Methods
  4. Results (or expected results)
  5. Discussion
  6. Conclusions
  7. References
  8. Keywords (up to five keywords)

Extended abstract (demo sessions)

The deadline for submission of the extended abstract is Sepmtember 30th, 2019. Upon acceptance of the short abstract, presenters are required to submit an extended abstract of 500-1000 words (maximum). This should follow the below structure:

  1. Paper title
  2. Background
  3. Aim
  4. System analysis and design
  5. Implementation or product prototype
  6. Evaluation and testing
  7. Keywords (up to five keywords)
